🤐🧑‍🚒 Labour Relations / Employee Negotiations Matter - BPFFA Negotiations

  • Agree to the new Collective Agreement between the City and the Barrie Professional Fire Fighters Association, based on the tentative settlement reached July 11, which is within the parameters established by City Council

  • Authorize the Director of Human Resources, or their designate, to execute Letters of Understanding and/or Letters of Intent between the City and the BPFFA to address matters such as legislative changes, clarification of the intent of the agreement language, changes resulting from the resolution of a grievance or a complaint, trial periods for pilots of new initiatives, or to formalize plans with the Association

  • [EBO is not fond of Motions Without Notice, in general - but especially not impressed when they are snuck into an in camera meeting that was only scheduled last-minute, with no notice to the public. We are seeing no justification for this being snuck through, rather than waiting two weeks for the summer meeting.]

    • Permission to introduce motion without notice GRANTED

  • MOTION by:  Morales / Thomson:

    • Add a 4-way stop to the intersection of Madelaine Drive and Country Lane

    • Add "No Parking Any Time" to both sides of Madelaine Drive from Country Lane to 35m north

    • Install traffic calming measures at Madelaine Drive at a cost of no more than $210,000, with funding from the ASE Reserve
