The Simcoe County Environmental Youth Alliance is a group of high school students from across Simcoe County advocating for climate justice. We are currently working on our Imagine Barrie campaign. We intend to have a climate rally, with a specific focus on ensuring that young voices are heard in the impending Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan that Barrie City Council is drafting. We will present the council with the youth's collective vision for the future, requesting that they listen to our concerns to pass the plan and ensure that youth voices are represented. Throughout this campaign, we will build momentum, organize youth demands, and host a rally, advocating for the youth's voice in Barrie's upcoming Greenhouse Gas Reduction Plan.
We are currently looking to recruit those who identify as youth and live in or around Barrie, to join our team in Barrie on Sunday, October 17, for the rally.
