From the Wilderness Committee:
Doug Ford's new Bill 5 will unleash environmental catastrophe in Ontario by gutting protections for endangered species and giving the government power to create “Special Economic Zones” that would be above municipal and provincial laws and Indigenous Rights.
It’s time to demonstrate our resounding opposition to this dangerous dumpster-fire of environmental oversight in Ontario — join us for a rally at Queen’s Park next week!
While Ford is trying to push Bill 5 through before MPPs go on their summer break, we will not back down without a fight. Let’s get creative with signs, art and songs to make a strong statement that nature is not red tape and species-at-risk are not for sale.
