Barrie City Council said YES to Barrie's SCS last night, with only Councillors Harvey & McCann voting against (councillor Jim Harris abstained from voting, due to conflict).
Thank you to all the Councillors who voted yes, and to those who fought the good fight – special mention going to Natalie Harris for standing up against some of the stigma being thrown the SCS's way.
Council has now given its approval, but the applicants now need to get approval from the Federal and Provincial governments.
We don't anticipate the Federal part of the application being an issue, but the Provincial side may still need a little encouragement.
