🚫🦹 Illegal Land Use Enforcement
Correspondence from Town of Cobourg, October 11: https://barrie.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=12364289&GUID=80812AB6-7EE8-4E5E-9105-F2D12F43879B
Supporting the Township of Puslinch's resolution to have the Illegal Land Use Enforcement Taskforce's mandate expanded to include other types of illegal land uses, and not solely on illegal trucking land uses, and ask the Province to strengthen municipal enforcement powers to physically bar entry to properties where illegal land uses that have significant detrimental impacts on adjacent residential properties, environment or create unsafe situations, and increase fines.
With this being sent to the Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing, this appears to be a resolution that could potentially allow municipalities to criminalize and block encampments – something to keep an eye on!
