It's election time – can you chip in to support our work?
Help us help democracy
Dear members and friends,
It has always been our position that we not charge an annual membership fee, in order to remain inclusive and accessible to all. But sometimes, we need to ask for a little help. With the upcoming municipal election, we have some out-of-the-ordinary expenses, and are asking our members and friends to please help us come up with the ~$350-400 we need to spend for the all-candidates meetings we're hosting, to keep you and the general public informed! This amount would cover hall rental for the Mayoral Candidates Forum, a retractable banner (which can be used at other events going forward), and a few incidentals. Any excess raised will go towards our web hosting and other real costs – our financial reports are shared with the membership at the AGM, which will be held in November (date TBC). If you can spare $20 at this time, please donate – if that is too much right now, any donation $5 and up is helpful. And if you're feeling super-generous, well, we might just have to hug you! (with consent, of course 😀 )
