  • Update from Craig Froese – Projected timeline is for project to be completed by October 2022

  • Carol-Ann Ryan – next steps in the process is to determine the visual outcome of the Allandale GO Station tunnel and then a call-out for submissions to the art community

  • J.Harris has talked with Metrolinx about the historic art project and potential partnership


💰📊 Committee Budget Update

  • Riepma provided update re: 2021 & 2022 budget

  • Received a quote for $6600 for the historic neighbourhood street signs, which would complete the historic neighbourhood street signs – committee only allocated $3000 for signs

  • Committee approved the expense to be raised from the original allocation.

  • 2022 budget was discussed, including prioritizing funds for future projects & initiatives


🏆🏅 2021 Heritage Barrie Awards

  • Nominations received for 47 Rodney St., Queens Hotel, 94 Dunlop St. E and 178 Bayfield St.

  • Committee discussed recipients for the group & individual categories

  • Selected award recipients for Residential, Commercial (2 recipients), Group, Institutional and Individual

  • Suggestion made to create a new category for media, to be discussed at next meeting


📡🗣 Communications Strategy

  • Deferred to next meeting


🏰🎉 2022 Heritage Week

  • Discussed potentially holding an event for the listed and designated property owners from the Municipal Heritage Registrar

  • Committee will provide suggestions to Kayleigh MacKinnon re: events for 2021 Heritage Week

  • Deferred to next meeting


🏙🌇 Bradford Street Properties Report Subcommittee

  • Deferred to next meeting


📜📋 Status of the Municipal Heritage Registrar

  • Request received from property owners of 72 Burton Ave. to have their property added as a listed property. Committee agreed to list.
