Hassey had sent in a presentation, with a concept master plan for Sam Cancilla Park revitalization

🏥🆘 RVH Emergency Room Physicians Advocate For Warming Centres
Open Letter from Royal Victoria Hospital Emergency Room Physicians, November 19: https://barrie.legistar.com/View.ashx?M=F&ID=13949924&GUID=4503277B-E56E-47A4-B1D4-3222DE1E8887
The RVH Emergency Department Physicians urgently ask Council for more access to safe warming areas for the homeless population in Barrie [It is appalling that this urgent letter from November 19 is not being considered until April 30 - how many people died and how much hospital money was spent due to this unconscionable delay?]
Riepma asked what was to be done with the referral, since it was from five months ago?
Hamilton indicated it was too late to do anything, and that Simcoe County would be speaking to Council on May 14
Prowse said the correspondence had been responded to by the City, and forwarded to the County

Recommendation: Invite public to provide open delegations concerning the feasibility of establishing parkland from Mulcaster Street to the eastern border of Sam Cancilla Park, including a legal review. Approve a new capital project to decommission the Bayview Park Reservoir and remove its associated Booster Pumping Station at Sam Cancilla Park, with a budget of $2,565,000 to be funded from the Water Capital Reserve, subject to the return of the same amount from other Water Capital Reserve funded projects in the 2025 Capital Status Report
HELD by Thomson
AMENDMENT: Add that the Capital Project concerning Sam Cancilla Park be moved up to commence work in 2025, simultaneously with the Bayview Park restoration project. As part of the Sam Cancilla Park project, staff review the design concept as presented by Mr. Hassey, and that they also engage with the property owner at the corner of Dunlop St. & Mulcaster St. with respect to both projects.
