The Nomination Period for the Municipal Election will open soon (May 2 - August 19), and the City is providing two Information Sessions for anyone thinking of running or registering as a third-party advertiser.
The City of Barrie is hosting two virtual information sessions for all prospective candidates and third-party advertisers to learn more about the nomination and registration process. Anyone interested in running in the 2022 Municipal Election for Mayor, Council member or school board trustee or registering as a third-party advertiser are invited to attend.
Wednesday, April 27, 6pm
This session will cover City of Barrie policies, procedures, and bylaw information pertaining to prospective candidates and the third-party advertiser registration process.

Wednesday, June 15, 6pm
The Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) will review the Municipal Elections Act and provide information on becoming a candidate or third-party advertiser in a municipal election.
