Election Year is Coming! Time to kick off the season with inspiration and support for women and gender-diverse people considering getting more involved with local politics.
Our amazing friends at PoliticsNOW are co-hosting the virtual event "Run Where You Are", along with a collective of regional women-in-politics organizations across Ontario: ElectHer Now, Leadership Féminin Prescott-Russell, Municipal Campaign School, The Jean Collective, and Waterloo Region Women's Municipal Campaign School.
Run Where You Are is more than an event — it’s a chance to connect with women and gender-diverse people across Ontario who are ready to lead. Join former Premier of Ontario Kathleen Wynne for the keynote, then hear from our Real Talk panel featuring Mayor Lynn Dollin (Innisfil), Councillor Kristin Murray (Timmins) and Councillor Lisa Deacon (Russell Township) as they share practical insights, lessons learned and advice for anyone thinking about running or supporting campaigns.
Run Where You Are is about giving women the tools, support, and community to step into politics with confidence.

The event is FREE, but donations are appreciated, and will go directly towards electing more women in Ontario's local governments.

Why
Ontario needs diverse voices at decision-making tables. Run Where You Are is designed to inspire and support women and gender-diverse people who are considering a municipal political run. By breaking down barriers and connecting participants to the right resources, this event will help those who have not run before to decide it is the right time to consider running for council or school boards in October 2026.
Whether you’re just curious, seriously thinking about running, planning a return to politics, or looking to support someone else’s campaign, this event is for you.
We’ll bring together voices from across the province — elected officials, campaign pros, and people who’ve been where you are — to demystify what it takes and show you you’re not alone.
