Special Members Meeting called for Membership to approve EBO's updated Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws
The Board of Directors has called a Special Members Meeting to approve the updated Articles and Bylaws of the organization. Only members will be allowed to attend this portion of the meeting (Our regularly-scheduled members information meeting will commence once the Special Meeting is complete, and guests can be allowed in.)
All contributing members are asked to attend the Special Members Meeting if able, so that quorum may be reached. It will be held digitally as a Google Meet, to make it (hopefully) easier for everyone to join.
If you are not able to join the meeting, our current bylaws do give all voting members the right to vote by proxy. Members, please check your email (or contact us at admin@engagebarrie.org) for a proxy form and instructions on how to designate a proxyholder to vote on your behalf.
Engage Barrie Organization was incorporated under earlier legislation, and its Letters Patent and Bylaws had to be worded in keeping with the legislation at the time. Under the new Ontario Not-For-Profit Corporations Act (ONCA), a number of changes had to be made, in order to comply with the legislation now in place.
All voting members should have received notice via email about this Special Members Meeting -- if you did not receive it, please contact admin@engagebarrie.org to ensure we have your correct email address on file, and that you are eligible to vote.
